Gassendi (110 km) is a classic crater with a complex central mountain and rille system. The crater has been partly flooded by lava from Mare Humorum. Three major mountain groups reaching up to 1.2 km are evident. A complex series of rilles cross the crater floor. The crater is estimated to be aged 3.6 billion years. Gassendi A (33 km) sits on the Northern rim. This image was captured in IR.
