Montes Spitbergen

Montes Spitbergen - Moon: North Region
Montes Spitzbergen is an isolated chain of mountains that lies just North of Achimedes in Mare Imbrium. Extending for 60 km North-South, many of the peaks are separated from one another by the basaltic plain. The range was most certainly a part of the original inner ring of the Imbrium basin which has been largely destroyed/buried by basalt. The highest peaks rise ~1.5 km above the surrounding plain.
